In Semester 2, 2023, in our impact lab class, students participated in the "City Campus" project, aiming to create a sustainable university campus inspired by the QUT Gardens Point campus, integrated with Brisbane City. Each student chose a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), and in this case, my focus was on Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. The proposal included a sustainable campus with solar panels, wind turbines, and eco-friendly materials to address rising energy costs and reduce carbon emissions. Backcasting was used to visualize the design's impact from 2023 to 2050, with students as the primary stakeholders. The group's goal was to create a 2050 City Campus that is sustainable, environmentally conscious, and inspires positive change in Brisbane City.
